As a full-time inshore guide in Charleston since 1996, I have had the pleasure to entertain thousands of guests of all skill levels and I still LOVE what I do. Whether you enjoy fly fishing, spin, or bait, I'll work hard to assure you accomplish your angling goals and most importantly have FUN. Redfish are my favorite and my specialty, but many other seasonal species are available throughout the year. Summer charters are great for families as the flats and beaches are teeming with sharks, ladyfish, trout, flounder and many other toothy critters sure to keep the kid's interest peaked. The fall and winter are my favorite time of the year, as the fish school up and the water gets clear. One of the great things about inshore fishing the SC Lowcountry is you never get bored; the fishing tactics change with the seasons, fronts, and tides. Hiring an experienced guide gives you the best chance to put all the variables together for the trip of a lifetime. I run my inshore fly fishing and light tackle charters out of the Isle of Palms Marina. My jet dock is right in front of Islander 71 restaurant, next door to the Marina Outpost. Charter times are usually determined by the tides, but an early morning start is usually the norm. 30 years in the inshore fishing charter business has mellowed me and taught me a great deal; not only about how to catch more fish, but how to tailor my trips to the wishes of my anglers. If you're a hard core fly fisherman, I've been one myself for a long time and I know just how to position you for productive opportunities. I can help you improve your cast if you like, or I can shut up and let you do your thing. I'm a redfish tournament angler as well, so tossing artificials with spinning and casting rods are right up my alley. You don't fish as long as I have, without mastering the art of bait fishing. If keeping the rods bent on the bait du jour is more your style, I'll do my best to send you home with sore wrists from reeling them all in!
