When you’re calling around about charters in Florida, it’s getting bad out there with guides calling themselves guides who aren’t licensed. A guide isn’t a real guide unless he’s a Captain. I’ve seen hundreds of people book a trip only to show up at the dock and find out their guide isn’t a USCG captain — if they say no, move on. In my 40 years doing this, we’ve never missed a scheduled trip. Your Florida bass charter trip is locked in and secure. Captains go through a lot — permits, licensing, and higher costs — so book with professionals or you could end up in trouble.
