About Captain Lance Gelman

Captain Lance is a graduate of Hunter College in New York City and has had his USCG 100 Ton License since 1978 and his 500 Ton Masters License since 1982. Lance has run boats up and down the west coast of North America and has worked on boats in Kona since 1984. Lance is a tireless worker and is able to handle all of the operating systems on the Medusa. Lance has worked in the charter fishing industry since he was 14, and his love of fishing, the ocean and his clients has always rewarded him. Lance believes it is his responsibility to show his clients a great day whether the fish are biting or not. With that said Lance is a very accomplished captain, catching two grander Blue Marlin (1058lb and 1075lb), 57 Mahi Mahi in a single day and has many tournament victories to his credit. A superb Ahi (yellowfin tuna) fisherman, Lance won first place in the Maui Jim Tournament Ahi Division three years in a row: 2009, 2010, and 2011. Lance looks forward to spending the day with you, sharing his vast experiences on the water and focusing on catching you your fish of a lifetime.
