About the Captain
Captain Charlie Newton has been the premier fishing guide for Rockport, Texas for over 4 decades. His charter business, aptly named “Redfish Charters”, has provided amazing fishing for thousands of clients who became friends. He and his amazing wife Beverly have served as a hub for people traveling to our little coastal town on where to stay, eat, fish, shop and relax. If they don’t know where something is – it doesn’t exist! This power couple have been a mainstay institution known to many in the community, and their most notable contribution has been raising up the next generation of fishing guides, particularly their grandson Captain Aerich Oliver. For the last several years, Captain Aerich has been the working captain for both Redfish Charters and his own company Rockport Paradise Outfitters. While Redfish Charters was strictly fishing, Rockport Paradise Outfitters offers both hunting and fishing charters. This transition has allowed for the same outstanding quality charters repeat customers call Redfish Charters for while allowing Captain Aerich Oliver to offer an expanded menu of services. However, maintaining two separate businesses and all the behind the scenes work that goes with that is a massive undertaking.
