About Captain Gary Dubiel
Capt. Gary Dubiel has guided out of Oriental for more than twenty years, fishing the Neuse and Trent rivers, Pamlico and Core sounds, and the false albacore grounds off Cape Lookout. He fishes only with fly and light-tackle artificial lures and designed the Pop-N-Fly popping-cork rig for red drum. Seasonal trips target trophy red drum from midsummer through October, tarpon in summer and false albacore in October and November, with speckled trout, striped bass, flounder and gray trout much of the year. Trips run on a 22 ft Frontier bay boat for two or three anglers, and the launch ramp is chosen each day by the weather.
