What's included in the trip?
Rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, and required safety equipment are all provided. Bring yourself and anything you'd like to eat or drink, but no hard alcohol please. Check the listing for specifics on trips and inclusions.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, soft-soled closed-toe shoes, and any food or drinks you'd like (no glass). Dress in layers for the conditions. Captain will contact you 24hrs prior to your trip with information on weather, sea conditions, etc.
Do I need a fishing license?
Hawaii requires a $20 per angler license, only provided on the state site. You will need to obtain one prior to your trip. Confirm with your captain for your specific trip and location. He can provide the web link for this.
Are kids welcome?
We love kids and happily take young anglers. Age minimum is 6 years old. Anyone 12 and Under must wear a life jacket according to USCG regulations.
Do you clean and bag the catch?
We will clean, fillet and bag your fish up to 40 lbs of fish. Larger fish (60+lbs and up) may not be processed due to our limitations at the dock, and may be turned in to our local wholesaler. We do not offer bag and ship due to no processing on island for this service.
Do I need fishing experience?
No experience required — Our 1st mate guides anglers of all skill levels. The more you've fished, the more advanced techniques you can try.
What will we target?
It depends on the season and conditions. Check the target species on the listing; your captain will put you on what’s currently biting.
Do you do Bottomfishing for Snappers?
We keep 2 electric rods and reels on board for anglers that want to bottomfish (400-600 feet). However, often times weather is a big factor on whether we are able to do so. Check with the captain on your fishing trip on this and he will advise if conditions will allow bottomfishing.
